Frequently asked questions

A short guide to Swedish electricity pricing and how the calculators work.

What is a price area (SE1–SE4)?

Sweden is divided into four price areas, from SE1 in the north to SE4 in the south. Spot prices differ between areas depending on production and transmission capacity.

What is included in the price per kWh?

Spot price + supplier markup + grid fee + energy tax, all plus 25% VAT. On top of that comes a fixed monthly fee independent of consumption.

Are the spot prices real time?

We show today's hourly prices for the selected area and refresh automatically. Next-day prices are normally published in the afternoon.

Are my calculations saved?

Only locally in your browser. You can export them as JSON or clear the history whenever you like.

What does home EV charging cost?

Use the EV calculator: it accounts for battery size, charge window, charging losses and your price per kWh, then shows cost per charge and per 100 km.
